Build a powerful custom shower system with the Aquabrass T12001 Turbo High-Flow Thermostatic Rough-In Valve with Single Shut-Off. Designed for concealed installation behind the finished shower wall, this Thermostatic Shower Control Valve combines precise temperature regulation with an integrated ceramic shut-off, reducing the need for separate concealed plumbing components.
The included high-flow Vernet thermostatic cartridge continuously balances incoming hot and cold water to help maintain the selected temperature. A factory-calibrated safety stop is preset at approximately 38°C / 100°F, helping prevent accidental selection of excessively hot water. Higher temperatures remain accessible through the compatible trim control.
Unlike a temperature-only rough-in valve, the T12001 incorporates one ceramic shut-off cartridge for independent on-and-off control of a single shower circuit. This integrated arrangement provides both temperature adjustment and water-flow control within one concealed valve assembly.
The valve features 1/2-inch female threaded outlets on both the right and left sides, allowing installers to select the connection that best suits the plumbing layout. Both outlets may also be connected when two fixtures are intended to operate simultaneously under the same shut-off control. They cannot be operated independently.
Manufactured in Italy, the nickel-plated solid brass body provides durable concealed construction. Universal hot and cold inlets accommodate either 1/2-inch female or 3/4-inch male threaded connections, offering flexibility when integrating the valve with compatible shower plumbing.
Reversible service check valves incorporate integrated filters and improved shut-off mechanisms. These components provide convenient servicing access while helping protect the thermostatic cartridge from debris in the water supply.
Designed for high-flow shower installations, this Thermostatic Shower Control Valve delivers 12 gallons per minute at 45 PSI and up to 15 gallons per minute at 75 PSI. Actual performance depends on the connected fixtures, available water pressure, and household plumbing capacity.
A removable upper NPT plug provides an expansion option for more elaborate shower installations. A separately purchased Aquabrass N1206 shut-off valve or 61934 independent diverter with stop can be incorporated when additional outlet control is required.
The concealed valve body measures 3-1/8 inches wide, 2-7/16 inches deep, and 8 inches high. Its specified rough-in depth ranges from 3-1/4 inches to 3-3/4 inches, allowing the installer to position the assembly correctly before completing the finished shower wall.
The T12001 includes the thermostatic valve body, Vernet thermostatic cartridge, and one ceramic shut-off cartridge. Compatible Aquabrass thermostatic and shut-off trim controls are required and sold separately. Professional installation by a qualified plumber is recommended. Aquabrass provides a two-year manufacturer warranty for residential and commercial applications.
