Create a customized two-function shower system with the Aquabrass RWUS5C86ZZ30 2-Way Non-Shared Touch-Control Thermostatic Rough-In Valve. Designed for concealed installation, this Thermostatic Shower Rough-In Valve combines temperature regulation with two-way outlet selection and is specifically engineered for compatible Aquabrass Touch control trim.
The two-way non-shared configuration allows one selected shower function to operate at a time. Depending on the completed bathroom design, the valve can direct water to a rainhead, handshower, body-jet system, or tub spout. Unlike a shared configuration, it does not permit both outlets to operate simultaneously.
Part of the Aquabrass ABGRP Powers / Propulse valve group, this Italian-made assembly provides thermostatic water-temperature regulation. Compatible Touch control trim completes the system, providing the visible controls required for temperature adjustment and shower-function selection.
Constructed from solid brass, the concealed valve body is protected within a metal installation housing. Separate hot and cold water inlets supply the thermostatic mixing valve, while two dedicated outlets connect to the selected shower fixtures.
The valve features 1/2-inch inlet and outlet connections for integration with compatible shower plumbing. Its protective housing helps establish the correct installation position before waterproofing, tile, stone, or other finished shower wall materials are installed.
This Thermostatic Shower Rough-In Valve provides different flow capacities for its two outlets. The first outlet, positioned nearest the thermostatic mixer, delivers up to 4.8 gallons per minute, or 18 litres per minute. The second outlet delivers up to 3.9 gallons per minute, or 15 litres per minute.
The higher-flow first outlet can be particularly useful when connecting a larger rainhead or another compatible fixture requiring greater water delivery. The valve has a maximum total flow capacity of 6.6 gallons per minute, or 25 litres per minute, under appropriate operating conditions. Actual performance depends on available water pressure, plumbing capacity, and the selected fixtures.
The adjustable installation depth accommodates different wall constructions and finished-surface thicknesses. Aquabrass specifies a minimum installation depth of 3-1/4 inches and a maximum of 3-7/8 inches, providing a 5/8-inch adjustment range.
The complete assembly measures 8-5/8 inches in overall length, with a housing height of 4-5/16 inches and a depth of 2-3/4 inches. These dimensions should be considered when preparing the wall cavity and planning the plumbing connections.
Because the valve becomes difficult to access after the shower wall is completed, supply lines should be thoroughly flushed and all connections properly installed, pressure-tested, and inspected before closing the wall.
The RWUS5C86ZZ30 includes the concealed thermostatic rough-in assembly only. Compatible Aquabrass Touch control trim, shower fixtures, supply piping, and installation materials are sold separately. Professional installation by a qualified plumber is recommended.
Aquabrass provides a limited lifetime residential manufacturer warranty for the original purchaser and a two-year commercial warranty, subject to its warranty terms.
